The Rats typically schedules ten trips to the Colorado River at Park Moabi -- 10 miles east of Needles.
The intent of a Radar River Rat water ski weekend is to ski, have lots of fun and relax in the sun (or shade) with like-minded water sports enthusiasts. We provide the boats, skis, vests, sunshades, instruction for the beginner, sandy beaches for camping and sunning, five meals, a Saturday cocktail hour, wine with dinner, and all the beer and soda you can drink at the river.
Costs
All this is yours for only $118* plus carpool expenses on carpools we arrange for you. (A carpool consists of at least three people). * May be subject to a fuel surcharge.
Non-skiers and children are welcome to join in the fun for $58 for non-skiers and $18 for children (5-11), plus carpool expenses. The non-skier and child fees cover meals, drinks and camping. Non-skiers and children will not be able to ride in a Club boat.

Club Boats
We take eight skiers per boat. Club boats are scheduled to operate Saturday, from 8 AM to 5 PM and on Sunday, from 7 AM to noon. There will be a one hour break for lunch on Saturday. Lunch on Sunday will be at noon. Boat drivers may operate extended hours, but it is at their discretion.
We are always on the look out for new boat drivers so if you have a boat that is suitable for water skiing, be sure to contact Gene at 858-467-9469 for details.
Hook Ups
We camp at Park Moabi on the Colorado River in an area known as the 'Peninsula'. We are assigned various 'points' throughout the summer. We have a "Google View" of Park Moabi from Highway 40 we hope will help you locate us.
Each point has four hook-ups (electric and water only). Hook-ups are pre-assigned. We have a map we hope will guide you for parking. The club trailer must be where it is located on the map. Priority for hook-ups are given to boat drivers and then are on a first-come-first-signed up basis. If you require a hook-up, you need to contact Patricia when you sign up.
